Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. -Psalm 119:165

The Magnificent Obsession

September 21 - November 16 (9 Weeks)

Anne Graham Lotz searched for answers to her heart's yearning and emptiness.  Abraham walked out of the pages of her Bible and into her life.  His story held the key to satisfying Anne's hungry heart.  Through personal anecdotes and inspiriting insights, she shares answers found as she has embraced the God-filled life of Abraham.  In the words of Jill Briscoe, "We are not left guessing how to love God with our whole hearts when we have finished reading this book."

Jeremiah, Part 1

Return to Me

September 14 - November 16 (10 Weeks)

Are you like many who are concerned about what is happening in our country today?  Jeremiah saw a nation standing at the crossroads of life and death.  The obstacles facing him are much like those facing us today.  God prepared an outnumbered and outranked Jeremiah to stand against widespread opposition, and He wants to do the same in your life.  Join us in our study of Jeremiah and gain a whole new perspective on perseverance as well as a vision of what God can do in and through you when the going gets tough!  Prayer will be an important component of the small groups that meet following Kay Arthur's video.

A Study on Hosea - Precept Upon Precept

A Love That Will Not Let Me Go

September 14 - October 19 (6 Weeks)

Please join us for the first study in the Precept Ministry "Kings and Prophets" series, A Love That Will Not Let Me Go.  The study of Hosea will help you understand the wonder of God's covenant love to all His covenant people.  It is our prayer that you will see how critically relevant Hosea is to our times and to your life so that you will confidently know and understand that He loves you with a love that will not let you go.  May this love cause you to keep His commandments and honor Him for Who He truly is.

Mom to Mom

September 14 - November 16 (10 Weeks)

Mom to Mom is an intergenerational discipling ministry intended to come alongside mothers desiring to grow in (1) their knowledge of God's Word, (2) their ability to apply God's Word to their lives, and (3) their ability to apply God's Word in their parenting.  This fall we will study the Sally Clarkson book, The Mission of Motherhood: Touching Your Child's Heart for Eternity.  Each session will include 30 minutes of teaching, and an hour of small-group interaction with mentor-moms and fellow-moms that will encourage, challenge, and build lifelong relationships.

New this year: Arrive at 9:30 for a special creative testimony that you will not want to miss!  Teaching begins at 10:00 sharp!

Idols of the Heart

September 14 - November 16 (10 Weeks)

Many people desire to live godly lives but feel trapped in habitual sins. They trip over the same bad habit, embarrassing weakness, or sinful slavery they wanted to be free of years ago. This book reveals that idolatry lies at the heart of every besetting sin. Idols are the desires, longings, and expectations we worship instead of the true God. Fitzpatrick helps uncover hidden idols by moving us to ask: What do I long for so much that my heart demands, "Give me this, or else I'll die!" What must I have for my life to be meaningful and happy?  Do I love God whole-heartedly or are there other loves in my heart that clamor for my attention? Fitzpatrick shares the hope found in God's desire to have his children live free of idols, and his commitment to free them by his sanctifying powe r.  Join us as we study this book in a discussion group style format.

The Gospel of Matthew, Part 1

The Coming King

September 15 - November 17 (10 Weeks)

Come study the Gospel of Matthew with us on Wednesday night.  Let's open our eyes and our minds this fall by reading the first book in the New Testament and celebrating (once again) the birth of Jesus -The Coming of the King.  The Gospel we have heard, read and told to others for years.  This year we will take a deeper look into the lessons Jesus taught His disciples and then observe the miracle as He sent them out with these lessons to teach us in 2010.  We have a remarkable task in front of us.  Come to class and pay attention we will be applying this scripture to our lives today.

A Study of Colossians and Philemon

Continue to Live in Him

September 16 - November 18 (10 Weeks)

Colossians was written for people like us, but during the first remarkable years in the early church.  The same Holy Spirit who inspired Paul to write these letters can teach us what they mean and how to apply them to our lives. In Colossians, Paul wrote with special care to celebrate the absolute supremacy of Jesus Christ and corrects some soul-destroying errors in theology.  He also teaches us how to live for Christ in our daily relationships. In Philemon, Paul addresses a delicate interpersonal conflict within the church and helps us to see how to honor God in restoring a relationship.  The author of the study guide, Kathleen Nielson, testifies to how serious study of the Word of God has kept her focused, growing, and alive in the deepest ways.  The process of studying the Word...seeing the shape a book from the Bible and the passages in it...guided by the Spirit of God should truly feed our souls, and transform our lives!

The Search for Significance

September 30 - November 18 (8 Weeks)

A Christian classic since 1980, The Search for Significance challenges you to apply the truth of God's word to your goals, motives, and your sense of self worth.  Satan's description is that self worth = performance + other's opinion.  We are worth the price Christ paid for us on the cross and His finished work of justification, reconciliation, propitiation and regeneration.

Please read the first 2 chapters of The Search for Significance before the first class.   A copy of the book will be made available for pick up after your registration.
